Food bank collection point opens in Aberlady

THERE IS NOW a collection point in Aberlady for East Lothian Food Bank set up by Aberlady Helpers after we became aware that our village’s need for food was largely covered, but the most vulnerable people in our communities are very reliant on the food bank.

Our collection point was set up on April 10, following news that East Lothian Food Bank was running short of supplies. Thanks to everyone at Ducks and at Margiotta’s village shop for their help in making the arrangements.

The collection point is in the porch at Ducks, on the high street opposite the village shop. Supplies can be dropped here and will be taken up to the food bank by volunteers.

UPDATE – On April 17, East Lothian Food Bank announced that, thanks to the generosity of our communities, it had everything it needed and that for now at least, everyone should have a break from donating.

Please keep an eye on their Twitter account for more news…
